Last year, CRCAIH presented Dr. Victoria Grey Owl with the inaugural Community Engaged Research Award in recognition of her extraordinary dedication to the principles of community engaged research in her work with tribal nations. Dr. Grey Owl's passion for her work has inspired others, and her ability to listen and reflect with community partners proves invaluable to building relationships and the collaborative process. This year, CRCAIH is seeking nominations for the 2019 Community Engaged Research Award. Do you know someone who is an exemplar of collaborative research work in communities? Someone who has dedicated their career to bringing equal voice to communities in research projects? Someone who achieves positive impact in their community through collaboration and engagement? Please include the following in your nomination letter:
- Your name
- Your contact information
- Your relationship to the nominee
- Nominee's name and credentials
- Nominee's job title and employer
- Statement of why the nominee is deserving of this award. In particular, how do they hold up the values of community engaged research in their work? How do they collaborate effectively and elevate communities as equal partners in the research process?
Nominees should be from or have conducted research in the CRCAIH region (South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota).
The CRCAIH Summit Planning Committee will review nominations and notify the awardee. The awardee will be invited to attend the Summit to accept their award on Tuesday, April 30, 2019.
