Medicine Wheel Incorporated is an educational non-profit organization started in 1986 that specializes in cultural training, chemical dependency and alcohol addiction treatment models and human resources training. Gene D. Thin Elk, owner of Medicine Wheel Inc., has worked with over 400 tribes in North America. The Red Road Approach, originated by Mr. Thin Elk, as been presented worldwide by a diverse sampling of indigenous cultures, organizations and government entities. Mr. Thin Elk has provided his expertise within the Northern Plains region, and is well respected in this region. Mr. Thin Elk directs the CRCAIH Bioethics, Science and Culture core (CSBC).
The CSBC has full support of all participating institutions. Through Medicine Wheel Incorporated, the CSBC Director (Thin Elk) brings over 30 years of experience and expertise in cultural topics and education to this core. Medicine Wheel Incorporated has a far-reaching reputation in helping both tribal and non-tribal organizations balance social tradition with modern practices.
